Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Our music ministry continues with our participation in the St. Mary’s Saturday 4:30 pm and Sunday 11:00 am Mass choir. Kathy and I are also members of the Respect Life ministry at St. Mary’s Church and sponsors of the Aid to Women Center.
Kathy is a member of the Chandler Republican Women, and I am an associate member. This organization helps to elect and re-elect Republican candidates. The meetings offer an opportunity to meet current and prospective candidates for local, county, state, and federal offices.
We took our fourth cruise with Viking this fall. We spent two nights in New Orleans at the Hotel Monteleone, a block from Bourbon Street. The bus tour of New Orleans and the World War II Museum was amazing! We then boarded the Viking Mississippi and sailed upriver, stopping at several cities along the way to view plantations. We disembarked in Memphis and went to Elvis Presley’s Graceland mansion. The trip ended with a bus to Nashville, where we attended the Grand Ole Opry and visited Ryman Auditorium and the RCA Studio B.
Next August, we will again embark on the Viking Mississippi, starting in St. Louis and cruising upriver to St. Paul, again stopping in several cities along the way. The highlight of this cruise will be visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse.
Doro and Dan continue to serve as a Therapy Dog Team at Mercy-Gilbert Hospital and two Chandler elementary schools, where they work primarily with special needs students. Doro turned 10 years old in July and has been a therapy dog for 8 years.
Dan is the Vice Chair of the IEEE Phoenix Section Life Member Affinity Group (LMAG). He is very involved with the Knights of Columbus as Faithful Comptroller of Assembly 2536 and Treasurer of Council 3121. Dan was re-elected to the coveted position of President of our HOA…no one wants the job!
